Rules to Remember on How and When to contact the Police:

Call 911 immediately for life- or property-threatening crimes in progress.

Call 242-COPS (242-2677) for all non-emergecy incidents when an officer is not around.

Call 242-COPS (242-2677) to verify that an officer at your door is authentic.

Call 768-2030, M-F, 7am-5pm, to file a police report (auto theft, burglary, vandalism, missing persons, threats or harrassment, runaways, simple assault without battery) over the phone, when an officer is not available and there is no known suspect.

Call 311 (Mon-Sat 6am-9pm; Sunday 9am-6pm) to report non-criminal activity such as graffiti, abandoned vehicles, weeds, etc.

Call 511 for weather-related road conditions, construction, and congestion information. This is also available on-line at NM Roads.com.

Recycling Locations - Let's use them!

The City's Solid Waste Division has placed glass and cardboard recycling drop-off bins in the northwest corner of the parking lot of the Bear Canyon Senior Center, just east of Eubank and north of Lagrima de Oro, at 4645 Pitt NE. It will accommodate everything that curbside recycling trucks ordinarily pick up, including glass.

There is a Reynolds aluminum recycling truck on the southwest corner loop of Menaul just west of Eubank, near Octopus Car Wash. They will pay you for aluminum cans and copper scrap.
